Kerri L. Holland, B.A.(Hon), M.A., Ph.D
Dr. Kerri L. Holland is President of KL Holland Consulting and an affiliated researcher with the Simpson Centre at the School of Public Policy (University of Calgary). She has a research background in Canadian politics, intergovernmental affairs, interest group activity and public policy and administration. Her most recent publications have focused on topics such as Canadian food security, food loss and waste, and value-added agricultural investment.
Driven by her passion for promoting rural issues, Dr. Holland’s research and publications have focused extensively on agricultural policy, environmental policy, and intergovernmental relations. Her work has provided her the opportunity to collaborate closely with political leaders, interest groups, and stakeholders at all stages of the policy making process.
As the proud daughter of 3rd generation Canadian farmers, her firsthand experience of primary agriculture and agribusiness has been a valuable asset in her research and consulting work.
Dr. Holland holds a doctorate in Political Science from the University of Alberta. She is the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and awards including the prestigious Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowship, the University of Alberta President's Doctoral Prize of Distinction, and the University of Manitoba's Duff Roblin Political Studies Fellowship.
